A templet made up of plates which have an adjustment on one another, so as to be expanded or contracted to any given dimensions within the usual limits of boot sizes." "Boot-shank machine. A tool for drawing the leather of the upper or boot-leg over the last into the hollow of the shank." "Boot-stretcher. (Leather.) A device for stretching the uppers of boots and shoes." "Boot-tree. An instrument composed of two wooden blocks, constituting a front and a rear portion, which together form the shape of the leg and foot, and which are driven apart by a wedge introduced between them to stretch the boot."
