Content: Agrippina the Elder was considered a noble and heroic woman. She was married to Germanicus, a Roman general, and followed him on his campaigns. She was the mother of the future Emperor Caligula and grandmother of Nero. Hated by Tiberius, she was banished to the island of Pandateria where it is thought she starved herself to death.
