Shows routes of the Hennepin Canal in northern Illinois from the Mississippi to the Illinois River. Shows the Rock Island Line, the Watertown Line, the Marais D'Osier Line, and a feeder branch flowing into the Hennepin Canal. Includes 5 profiles of the Hennepin Canal routes with a horizontal scale of 1:190,080 and a vertical scale of 1:600. Published in: Letter from the Secretary of War transmitting report from the Chief of Engineers of additional surveys, by Maj. Thomas H. Handbury, of routes for Hennepin Canal. Washington: Government Printing Office, 1886. House Ex. Doc. 117, 49th Congress, 1st session. Serial Set 2398.
