Description
Rehearsal and Hanukkah celebration performance includes Jan Peerce who talks about his life and career as a cantor, operatic tenor, and a singer of Yiddish and Hebrew folk songs, and sings live various songs and ballads. He also discusses his Broadway debut in the role of Tevye in the musical "Fiddler on the roof," and his concerting tour to Moscow (1956) where he made a sensation as a musical "cultural exchange" ambassador, being the first American to sing with the famed Bolshoi Opera.
