Description
Miriam Newman, BBC radio host, interviews Leida Snow who speaks about the American production of the musical "Shōgun" (with a book and lyrics by John Driver, and music by Paul Chihara, based on James Clavell's 1976 novel, and the 1980 television mini-series of the same name based on it). Snow's review accompanied by brief interviews with John Driver, the librettist and lyricist, Michael Smuin, director and choreographer, and Peter Karrie, the leading man, and excertps from the recordings of the songs from the musical. The program also includes Gideon Bachmann's observation of the 1990 Venice Film Festival.
