Ira Gershwin, lyricist and author of many successful Broadway musicals who collaborated with his younger brother, composer George Gershwin, and after his death with many other prominent composers (Jerome Kern, Kurt Weill, Harold Arlen), talks about revivals of old shows (e.g. Showboat in London) and changes they undergo, costs of putting on shows at the moment of the interviews compared to those in the past, contemporary British musicals, show business finances, and discusses other topics related to musicals, lyricists, composers, and songs. He also speaks very fondly about Pelham (Plum) Wodehouse (an English writer of short stories, plays, poems, and song lyrics), a close friend and a collaborator on the musical "Rosalie," and reminisces about his brother George Gershwin.
